Iowa man sentenced to prison for role in 2012 robbery

WATERLOO, Iowa (AP) - A 28-year-old Iowa man has been sentenced to up to 40 years in prison for his role in a 2012 home invasion and robbery.

The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier reports (http://bit.ly/1KDxHMn ) Deandrew Deshawn Harris was sentenced last week.

Authorities say Harris will have to serve at least 20 years and six months before he is eligible for parole.

At a December trial, Harris was convicted of taking part in the August 2012 robbery.

Prosecutors say Harris was one of six armed men who entered a townhome to rob a group of friends who were playing cards and video games.
