Off-duty police reserve officer killed outside Detroit bar

DETROIT (AP) - An off-duty police reserve officer who was a U.S. Army veteran has been fatally shot outside a Detroit bar.

Roderick Jones was working security Friday night at the Opyum Bar. He was a reserve officer with the Highland Park police department.

Highland Park police Chief Kevin Coney tells radio station WWJ that the 33-year-old Jones was a "stand-up guy" who served in Iraq.

Five people have been arrested.
