Miami of Ohio beats Western Michigan, 4-3, in Chicago

CHICAGO (AP) - Miami of Ohio got two power play goals Saturday and held on for a 4-3 victory over Western Michigan in the Hockey City Classic at Soldier Field in Chicago.

Western Michigan scored three goals in the final period, including a deflection off the chest of Sheldon Dries with just 45 seconds remaining, but the rally ended there.

Alex Wideman opened the scoring for the RedHawks (16-9-1) at the 13:28 mark of the first period. Miami got three more goals in the second period from Riley Barber, Kevin Morris and Sean Kuraly.

The Broncos (11-11-4) didn't give up, despite being down 4-0 after two periods. Josh Pitt scored a goal and Aidan Muir followed 37 seconds later.

Miami goalie Jay Williams made 25 saves, while Western Michigan's Lukas Hafner and Frank Slubowski combined for 37.
