Gages Lake store robbed at gunpoint

Lake County deputies are looking for a man who robbed a Gages Lake store Friday morning.

At 11:26 a.m., a black man described as 5-foot, 7-inches tall and wearing black clothes and a mask entered Gages Lake Food and Liquor in the 18000 block of Old Gages Lake Road.

The wife of the owner was in a back room on the phone when the thief forced her at gunpoint to empty the cash register.

The robber then took her purse, which contained cash as well her identification, before fleeing on foot with approximately $200.

The thief displayed what appeared to be a small snub-nosed revolver
