Milwaukee community helping family of stabbing victim
MILWAUKEE (AP) - Milwaukee residents are stepping up to help the family of a 5-month-old girl allegedly killed by her father.
Kairii Garcia was fatally stabbed last month as she was lying in her crib. The baby's mother, Alexia Dailey, and her boyfriend suffered serious injuries, and another man was killed in the Jan. 23 attack.
The baby's great grandfather tells WISN-TV (http://bit.ly/1ziJQ7z ) that the family has received a lot of support from the community, including the Culver's location where Dailey used to work.
The restaurant was donating 10 percent of its sales to the family on Wednesday. A Culver's employee says some customers opted to donate money to the family or come back for another meal later in the day.
Ruben Garcia has been charged with two counts each of first-degree intentional homicide and first-degree attempted homicide. An email seeking comment was sent to his attorney early Thursday.
