U-46 candidate drops out of school board race

Brian Sauvageau of Bartlett has withdrawn his candidacy for the Elgin Area School District U-46 school board, a Kane County Clerk's Office spokeswoman said.

His name will not appear on the April 7 ballot.

There are now eight candidates vying for three, 4-year terms on the board: Phil Costello of Bartlett, Lawrence Bury of Bartlett, Jeanette Ward of West Chicago, Jennifer Shroder of Elgin, Arisleyda Taylor of Streamwood, Susan Kerr of Bartlett, Ed Novak of Bartlett, and Traci Ellis of Elgin.

Two candidates - Kai Rush and Cody Holt, both of Elgin - are vying for a 2-year unexpired term.
