Postal worker scheduled to be sentenced for mail theft
EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. (AP) - A western Illinois postal worker will be sentenced on a federal charge that she stole mail that included a debit card she used.
Thirty-one-year-old Abra Albrecht was scheduled to be sentenced Wednesday in U.S. District Court in East St. Louis.
Albrecht pleaded guilty in September to one felony count of mail theft.
She admitted she stole mail while working at the Kampsville and Hardin post offices in February. Prosecutors say one of the stolen letters included a debit card that ultimately led to her arrest when she was seen using it on surveillance video.
Albrecht had been free on bond until a judge revoked it last month.
