Gov. Snyder, wife plan move to condo in downtown Ann Arbor
ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) - Gov. Rick Snyder and his wife Sue are planning to move to a condo in downtown Ann Arbor as early as this summer.
The Ann Arbor News says the couple bought a 4,600-square-foot condo in a historic building on Main Street. It sold for $1.5 million in August and the city planning commission this week approved a $500,000 addition.
Snyder spokeswoman Sara Wurfel tells the Detroit Free Press the Snyders are empty nesters since their youngest child went to college and they're downsizing.
The Snyders live in a home worth around $1.4 million in Washtenaw County's Superior Township outside Ann Arbor. They chose not to move to the governor's residence in Lansing when the former venture capitalist was elected.
