Art Institute audio guides available in Mandarin

CHICAGO (AP) - Chicago's Art Institute is celebrating the Chinese New Year by offering Mandarin language audio guides to visitors.

The museum announced Tuesday the audio guides will be free of charge from Feb. 14 through March 1. It's a narrated tour of museum masterpieces such as Monet's "Water Lilies" and Grant Wood's "American Gothic."

Another stop on the audio guide tour is the Thorne Miniature Rooms, which now feature a room decorated with a shadow puppet show for Chinese New Year.

Visitors using the audio guide also will hear about the history of the Art Institute and see art from a wide range of cultures and historical periods.
