NCH opens outpatient pediatric physical rehabilitation unit

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (February 3, 2015) - Northwest Community Healthcare (NCH) has opened a new pediatric physical rehabilitation services location in Arlington Heights, offering convenient, evening and weekend hours for patients under 18 years old who have physical or learning disabilities due to illness, injury or congenital abnormalities.

Physical therapists and occupational therapists at the new clinic provide one-on-one service to patients. NCH offers outpatient rehabilitation for children with a variety of conditions, including developmental disorders, movement disorders, neurological conditions, orthopedic conditions, sports-related injuries and sensory-integrated dysfunction. The clinic will soon feature speech pathologists who will treat patients with feeding and swallowing disorders and speech-language disorders.

Rehabilitation services also are offered for children of any age with developmental-related diagnoses. The new clinic at 1590 N. Arlington Heights Road has convenient evening and weekend hours:

• Mondays: 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.

• Wednesdays: 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

• Fridays: 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

• Saturdays: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

"We are excited and energized to begin the work ahead of us - knowing that this effort will serve our patients and community well," NCH Chief Operating Officer Michael Hartke says. "The new unit will create a continuum of care for NCH's young patients who require outpatient physical rehabilitation."
