Hunt is on for the best oak trees in Barrington area

Residents have one month to enter their favorite oak tree in the Barrington Area Conservation Trust's fifth annual Great Oaks of Barrington contest.

The contest celebrates the people who protect these trees of all ages. The owners of the five winning oak trees - based on the tree's age, health, location, form, classic beauty and personal story - will receive framed photos of themselves with their trees. One winner will receive a one-hour consultation with an oak tree expert.

The winners will be announced at the conservation trust's Earth Day celebration on April 22. To enter your oak, download and fill out an application form at bactrust.org.
