Man hit by train in Arlington Heights

A man was hit by a train near the Arlington Heights Metra station around 10 p.m. Sunday night.

Authorities said the man was standing on the train tracks on Vail Street when he was clipped by the train. He was transported to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge with nonlife threatening injuries, authorities said.

Authorities said the man was standing on the tracks next to the station. He told authorities he thought the train was on the other track.
