Des Plaines business owner to discuss conversion to solar
A Des Plaines business owner will discuss his company's conversion to solar during a meeting Tuesday at city hall.
Rich Carrigan, president of United Displaycraft, will discuss the business benefits of solar during a presentation hosted by the Des Plaines Ad Hoc Committee on Sustainability and Shift2Green, a local nonprofit. The meeting will be held at 8:30 a.m. in Room 102. City hall is located at 1420 Miner St.
The installation of solar panels at the firm's manufacturing facility effectively doubles the company's energy production and provides nearly 40 percent of its annual electricity requirement, officials said.
