3 hurt in ATV crash on Forest Lake

Three people were injured Saturday afternoon when an ATV crashed on the ice on Forest Lake, fire officials said.

Lake Zurich firefighters responded to the call just before 3:30 p.m., setting up a treatment area for the injured at Forest Lake Boat Launch area.

Lake Zurich Fire Capt. David Pilgard declined to speculate how the crash happened but said that the crash did not involve the ATV or the injured going through the ice into the water.

All three were transported to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville with nonlife-threatening injuries.

Countryside and Long Grove fire protection districts assisted. The accident remains under investigation by the Lake County Sheriff's Department.
