Elk Grove group sends 5,000 pizzas to Afghanistan

Elk Grove Village-based Pizzas 4 Patriots is shipping 5,000 pizzas to Afghanistan so that soldiers can enjoy a taste of home while watching the NFL championship game.

The pizzas this year are being provided by Rich Products Corp., one of the nation's leading pizza suppliers.

“I am grateful to DHL Express for donating its shipping services, and to Rich's, for making this experience possible for our brave servicemen and women,” Ret. Master Sgt. Mark Evans, founder of Pizzas 4 Patriots, said in a news release.
