Lincoln man convicted of child sexual assault

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - A Lincoln man has been convicted of child sexual assault in a case involving a 15-year-old girl.

The Lincoln Journal Star reports (http://bit.ly/1BysTFN ) 43-year-old Joseph Contreras was found guilty Wednesday of first- and third-degree sexual assault of a child and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Contreras was arrested in Linn County, Iowa, last year.

In a Jan. 12 hearing, the girl told prosecutors she fell asleep after drinking alcohol and woke up with her pants off and Contreras subjecting her to sexual acts. She said she hadn't consented.

An attorney for Contreras could not be located.

Contreras faces at least 20 years in prison. A sentencing hearing has been set for March 19.
