Clothing maker Carhartt plans to open Detroit retail store

DETROIT (AP) - Clothing maker Carhartt plans to open a Detroit retail store.

Columnist Tom Walsh of the Detroit Free Press reports (http://on.freep.com/1Cy27hZ ) Dearborn-based Carhartt plans to lease a three-story building in Detroit's Midtown area.

The building will house the retail store and there will be an attached parking garage. Plans call for the store to open in late May or early June.

Carhartt has more than a dozen retail stores worldwide.
