Children's Literature Breakfast set for Feb. 21

Some 600 children's book lovers, educators and authors are expected to meet for Anderson's Bookshops' 13th annual Children's Literature Breakfast featuring 50 authors and illustrators.

Attendees will have an opportunity to meet celebrated children's authors Sarah Weeks, Bob Shea, Shannon Hale, Dav Pilkey and Judy Schachner plus dozens of Illinois authors and illustrators of children's books. The Children's Literature Breakfast runs 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, at Bobak's Signature Events, 6440 Double Eagle Drive, Woodridge. Breakfast is included.

Sarah Weeks is the author of "Honey" and "Glamourpuss." Bob Shea has written "Dinosaur vs. Mommy," "Dinosaur vs. School" and others in the Dinosaur vs. line of children's books. Shannon Hale is the author of "Princess Academy: The Forgotten Sisters," the latest in her hugely popular Princess Academy series. Dav Pilkey, of "Captain Underpants" fame, is also the creator of the Ricky Ricotta book series. Judy Schachner is the author of the popular Skippyjon Jones books.

Participants will learn about new award-winning and notable children's books, hear book talks, have a chance to win raffle prizes, receive giveaways and may earn continuing education credits. Books will be on sale at the event as well.
