The Chippewa County sheriff's department says that Craig Althouse of Oakland County's Highland Township was riding on a trail in Superior Township on Saturday when he lost control of his snowmobile and struck some trees.
The crash site is about 20 miles west-southwest of Sault Ste. Marie near the unincorporated community of Raco (RAY'-koe).
