Southeastern Michigan man killed in snowmobile crash in UP
SUPERIOR TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - Authorities say a 27-year-old southeastern Michigan man was killed while snowmobiling in the eastern Upper Peninsula
The Chippewa County sheriff's department says that Craig Althouse of Oakland County's Highland Township was riding on a trail in Superior Township on Saturday when he lost control of his snowmobile and struck some trees.
The crash site is about 20 miles west-southwest of Sault Ste. Marie near the unincorporated community of Raco (RAY'-koe).
The sheriff's department says that Althouse was driving too fast for conditions. It says he was wearing a helmet.
