Hanover Park man pleads guilty to sexually abusing girl

A 26-year-old Hanover Park man was sentenced to six years in prison after pleading guilty Thursday to sexually assaulting a 7-year-old girl last August.
In addition to the prison sentence, Mario Mendoza was ordered to register as a sex offender upon his release.
Mendoza, who had no criminal background, received credit for 163 days in custody. He must serve at least 85 percent of his sentence before he is eligible for parole,
