Wisconsin unemployment rate unchanged at 5.2 percent

MADISON, Wis. (AP) - Wisconsin's unemployment rate remained at 5.2 percent in December, unchanged from November.

The Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development reported Thursday that the state added 7,600 private sector jobs from November to December.

The unemployment rate is Wisconsin's lowest since the economic crash in September 2008. The national unemployment rate was 5.6 percent in December.

Reggie Newson, secretary of the Department of Workforce Development, says the latest figures show a "trajectory of job growth in Wisconsin."
