Attempted burglary arrest:

A Lake Villa man was arrested about 2:30 a.m. Tuesday after an attempted burglary at Family Pantry, 21190 Commercial Drive, near Mundelein. Glenn E. Trauthwein, 33, whose address wasn't provided by Lake County sheriff's police, was discovered hiding in bushes behind the business after police responded to a silent alarm, a news release said. Police recovered a radio scanner, pry bars, drills, lock-picking tools and other equipment, authorities said. Trauthwein was charged with attempted burglary criminal damage to property and possession of burglary tools.
