Jackson is often remembered for his infamous campaign of Indian removal. But a new exhibit at Jackson's historic home, The Hermitage, asks visitors to view the seventh president more like the Kanye West of his day.
"Andrew Jackson, Born for a Storm" is the first major content change to The Hermitage's exhibition space in 25 years. Perhaps surprisingly, it's also the first exhibit here to focus on Jackson and his legacy.
It plays up Jackson's rock star-like popularity in his day but also aims to show he's still relevant.
"Born for a Storm" portrays Jackson as a man whose vision changed the presidency and the nation and whose legacy can still be felt today.
