Prosecutors to seek revocation of sex abuser's bond

WAUKEGAN, Ill. (AP) - Lake County prosecutors say they want former Gavin Elementary District 37 teacher accused of sexually assaulting two students held without bond.

Michael R. Vucic is charged with predatory criminal sexual assault and criminal sexual assault while employed at a public school in Ingleside, outside Chicago. He is being held in lieu of $10 million bond in Lake County Jail after extradition from Bosnia-Herzegovina, where he was arrested in September.

State's attorney spokeswoman Cynthia Vargas told the Daily Herald in Arlington Heights (http://bit.ly/1CdG93H) prosecutors on Thursday will ask Judge Daniel Shanes to hold Vucic without bail.

Vargas says prosecutors fear if the 41-year-old Vucic should post bail, he would try to leave the country, like he did in August after an arrest warrant was issued for him.

It wasn't immediately known if Vucic has legal representation.
