Man badly hurt in hog building explosion in northwest Iowa
BOYDEN, Iowa (AP) - Authorities say a man has been seriously injured after an explosion at a hog confinement building in northwestern Iowa.
KCAU-TV reports (http://bit.ly/1CLikPk ) 34-year-old Scott Mulder was badly burned Monday when an explosion occurred at the building, about seven miles southwest of Boyden. He was transported to a local hospital before being flown to a burn unit in Minneapolis. His condition wasn't available Tuesday.
Officials say Mulder had been unloading a feeder into the building when the explosion took place.
The cause of the explosion is under investigation.
