Inmate listed as escaped from Waterloo work release facility

WATERLOO, Iowa (AP) - Authorities say a 35-year-old inmate has been listed as escaped from a work release facility in Waterloo.

The Iowa Corrections Department says Curtis Austin lll was placed on escaped status because he didn't return to the facility after a day of work.

His original, 25-year sentence began in December 2002. Austin was convicted of burglary in Black Hawk County.
