City Year Detroit, volunteers to tackle service projects

DETROIT (AP) - The legacy of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. will be honored by hundreds of volunteers participating in City Year Detroit's 14th annual day of service projects.

City Year Detroit young adult corps members and volunteers will organize books that will go to elementary school children, spruce up schools, take part in a cultural symposium, help out at food banks and lead enrichment activities for homeless children.
