Police search for suspect in Marshalltown homicide
MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (AP) - Authorities are searching for a 19-year-old man they believe is responsible for the shooting death of a 20-year-old Marshalltown man.
The Marshalltown Times-Republican reports (http://bit.ly/1wjPyQC ) the fatal shooting was reported after 11 p.m. Saturday. One of the other people at the home reported the shooting.
The victim was rushed to a local hospital where he died shortly after midnight Sunday. His identity wasn't immediately released.
Marshalltown Police Chief Mike Tupper says an arrest warrant has been issued for the suspect in the case.
Tupper says investigators believe the two men knew each other, but they're not sure if the victim lived at the house where the shooting took place.
The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation is helping with the case.
