Spanish league bottom club Granada fires coach Caparros

MADRID (AP) - Granada says Friday it has fired coach Joaquin Caparros and replaced him on temporary basis with his assistant Joseba Aguado.

Aguado will take charge of the squad for Sunday's league match against Atletico Madrid at the Vicente Calderon Stadium and will remain in the post until a replacement is found, a statement said.

Granada is bottom of La Liga hasn't won in the league in 14 straight games, a drought that stretches back to Sept. 20.

Under Caparros the Andalucian club, that was ousted from the Copa del Rey following a 4-0 rout at Sevilla on Wednesday, has scored a league-low 11 goals in 18 rounds.
