Woman charged after daughter left alone in bathtub dies
SAGINAW, Mich. (AP) - A 25-year-old Saginaw woman has been charged with murder after state police say her 6-year-old disabled daughter died after being left alone in a bathtub.
WSGW-AM reports Destiny Oglesby has been ordered held on $20,000 bond in the girl's Nov. 14 death after being charged with murder, involuntary manslaughter, second-degree child abuse. An obituary identified the child as Je'Nhyla Sharmaine T'Ara Simms.
The Associated Press left a message seeking comment Thursday from her lawyer William White.
A court conference is planned for next Wednesday in the case and a Jan. 28 hearing to determine if the case goes to trial is scheduled.
