Police nab ex-cons suspected of duct-taping family in holdup

WEST BLOOMFIELD, Mich. (AP) - Police say they've arrested two paroled ex-cons suspected of duct-taping and robbing a suburban Detroit family during an armed home invasion.

West Bloomfield Detective Lt. Curt Lawson says the men entered the home early Wednesday morning while the family was sleeping. He says the suspects used duct tape to restrain the married couple, two of their three young children and their live-in nanny.

Lawson says the men then stole several items, including a 70-inch flat-screen TV, iPads and a Mac computer before taking off in the family's minivan.

He tells the Detroit Free Press that police arrested Detroit men ages 26 and 42 during traffic stops in Detroit on Thursday and recovered the minivan.

The suspects are being held on parole violations while the investigation continues.
