Harley to become official motorcycle of Sturgis rally
MILWAUKEE (AP) - Harley-Davidson says it's finalizing an agreement to make its motorcycle the official bike of the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in South Dakota.
Harley plans to build a permanent plaza in downtown Sturgis that will be a venue for concerts and other special events. Harley hopes to have the plaza complete by this year's rally the first week of August. The motorcycle company has used the rally to promote its products and connect with its customers.
The annual six-day event draws hundreds of thousands of people from all over the world. The Journal Sentinel (http://bit.ly/1ymZ3T8 ) says the agreement cements the partnership for 75 years.
