Flu deadly to at least 2 children

MILWAUKEE (AP) - Health officials expect the latest round of flu to last another four to six weeks in Wisconsin.

The flu has contributed to the deaths of two children this season. A 12-year-old Milwaukee girl died on New Year's Day. WISN-TV (http://bit.ly/1AiwPqV ) reports a 2-year-old boy died of Type A influenza on Christmas Day.

A 26-year-old Kenosha woman, Katherine McQuestion, also died of flu complications this season. She worked as a radiology technician at St. Catherine's Medical Center in Pleasant Prairie.

The state Department of Health Services says there have been more than 3,100 hospitalizations for the flu. Most are people who are 65 or older. Health officials say if you haven't been vaccinated for the flu, it's not too late. A second round of flu cases could hit the state in March or April.
