Emergency blood drive

Blood supplies are low due to the cold weather and holidays, so the Mundelein Fire Department is hosting a "Special, Emergency Blood Drive" from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, at fire station No. 1, 1000 N. Midlothian Road, Mundelein.

Reservations are welcome at lifesource.org or (877) 543-3768, but walk-ins are welcome.

This is a critical time and fire service agencies around Chicago are adding drives to assist with shortages of blood. The goal is to provide 100 or more units of blood at this drive and to raise the awareness of the necessity for donations.

A special raffle will be held for all donors.
