Android Industries to bring 131 jobs to Detroit operation
DETROIT (AP) - The Michigan Economic Development Corp. says Android Industries LLC is expanding in Detroit and will bring dozens of new jobs to area residents.
The company is investing $16.5 million in the project that's expected to create 131 jobs. In turn, officials worked with the company to identify incentives to bring the expansion on the Focus: HOPE campus to fruition.
Android will receive a $500,000 Michigan Business Development Program performance-based grant. The Detroit City Council also approved a $620,000 Industrial Facilities Tax Exemption Certificate for the company.
The Detroit operation provides assembled vehicle modules, including front and rear suspensions, brake parts and hood components to General Motors.
