Mariners to induct Moyer into team's Hall of Fame

SEATTLE (AP) - Former Seattle Mariners pitcher Jamie Moyer will become the latest inductee into the club's Hall of Fame.

The Mariners announced Tuesday that Moyer will be inducted on Aug. 8 before Seattle plays the Texas Rangers. He will be the second pitcher honored by the club, joining recent Baseball Hall of Fame inductee Randy Johnson.

Moyer spent 11 seasons with Seattle and is the all-time leader in victories with 145. He also has the most innings pitched, starts and quality starts in franchise history. Moyer was an All-Star in 2003 at age 40 and twice won at least 20 games for Seattle. Moyer was originally acquired by Seattle in July 1996 in a trade with Boston.

Moyer concluded his career in 2012 at age 49 after making 10 starts for Colorado.
