Southern Illinois man accused of sexually assaulting child

JONESBORO, Ill. (AP) - A grand jury in southern Illinois' Union County has accused a Marion man of sexually attacking a child.

WSIL-TV (http://bit.ly/17Bq4tp) reports an indictment charges 48-year-old Bradley Wyant with four counts of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child, as well as three counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse.

The charges relate to a child younger than 13 years old.

Wyant was arrested in October after an investigation by Union County deputies.

He still was jailed Monday in Jackson County on $500,000 bond and is scheduled for a hearing Jan. 20 in Jonesboro.

A message seeking comment was left Monday by The Associated Press with defense attorney Patrick Duffy. It was not immediately returned.
