NHP: Pahrump woman dies of injuries in head-on highway crash

LAS VEGAS (AP) - The Nevada Highway Patrol says a 58-year-old Nye County woman died of injuries she received as the wrong-way driver in a crash on State Highway 160 west of Las Vegas.

NHP Trooper Chelsea Stuenkel says Julia Shoup of Pahrump died Saturday at University Medical Center in Las Vegas.

Investigators say Shoup was driving a Toyota Tacoma on Wednesday night toward Pahrump when the pickup struck a Saturn sedan heading toward Las Vegas.

Troopers say the Saturn also collided with a Chevrolet Malibu.

Stuenkel says the Saturn driver, 23-year-old William Nettles of Fort Worth, Texas, was treated for minor injuries, while the Malibu driver, 46-year-old Todd Monsey and 34-year-old passenger Jeremy Salewsky weren't hurt.

Records show Monsey lives in Argentine Township, Michigan, and Salewsky lives in Handy Township, Michigan.
