Autopsy: Michigan man accidentally drowned in campus pond
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. (AP) - An autopsy has determined an 18-year-old man found dead in a pond on a Mount Pleasant college campus accidentally drowned.
Michael Hartnett of Dearborn Heights was found by police on Oct. 5 after his father reported him missing. His body was recovered later that day from a pond on the Central Michigan University campus.
Isabella County Prosecutor Risa Hunt-Scully announced Monday that no charges will be filed in the case.
Hartnett, an insulin-dependent diabetic, was a student at Wayne State University. He was visiting friends at Central Michigan University when the incident occurred.
