Woman flees from deputies, leaves children in minivan

BELOIT, Wis. (AP) - A Beloit woman is accused of eluding police in her minivan, then abandoning the vehicle, leaving her two children inside as she fled on foot.

A Rock County sheriff's deputy tried to stop the driver because she has an active probation warrant. As the deputy got out of his squad Saturday night, the 26-year-old Beloit woman drove away. The deputy pursued the minivan until it stopped less than a mile away and the woman and a man bolted from the vehicle.

WISC-TV (http://bit.ly/14LjwHJ ) reports deputies found the woman's two children, ages 4 and 5, in the vehicle with another man. The children were turned over to their grandfather. Rock County Child Protective Services is investigating.
