Wisconsin man pleads no contest in 3-year-old girl's death

OSHKOSH, Wis. (AP) - A Wisconsin man has pleaded no contest to a charge that he caused fatal injuries to his fiancee's 3-year-old daughter.

Twenty-seven-year-old Ryan Jorgenson of the Town of Manasha was convicted after entering his plea Monday to first-degree reckless homicide.

According to a criminal complaint, Jorgenson called 911 on May 14 and said the girl fell down some stairs and suffered a seizure. Paramedics called police because of the severity of the child's injuries. The girl died at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin May 21.

Police say Jorgenson admitted pushing the girl down the stairs. Jorgenson was engaged to the child's mother.
