No. 15 Stanford holds off Washington State 86-76 in OT
PULLMAN, Wash. (AP) - Amber Orrange scored 19 points, Bonnie Samuelson added 18 and No. 15 Stanford needed overtime to hold off Washington State 86-76 on Sunday.
It was all Stanford (12-4, 4-0 Pac-12) in overtime, as Orrange made a jumper, fed Kaylee Johnson for an uncontested layup, and Lili Thompson drilled a 3-pointer to give the Cardinal an insurmountable advantage.
Stanford has never lost to WSU in 58 meetings.
Washington State led at half 33-28 and had an 11-point lead in the second half.
Samuelson's 3-pointer with 11 seconds left put Stanford up by two, but Lia Galdeira's runner with 2 seconds left - WSU's only field goal in the last 6:45 of regulation - tied it at 71 and forced overtime.
Stanford's Thompson and Johnson finished with 13 points apiece. Johnson grabbed 15 rebounds.
Tia Presley paced Washington State (10-5, 1-3) with 23 points. Galdeira had 18 points, seven rebounds and six assists.
