Top Rauner inaugural donors includes Duchossois

Arlington International Racecourse Chairman Richard Duchossois and the CEO of a Bolingbrook company that makes floor mats for cars are among the top donors to Gov.-elect Bruce Rauner's inauguration and transition committees.

Rauner released the list of donors Saturday night, and Duchossois was listed in a category of donors "up to $50,000," and David MacNeil, CEO of WeatherTech, was in the "up to $100,000" category.

Rauner's list included some of Illinois' top business lobbying groups, including the Illinois Hospital Association and Illinois Manufacturers Association in the top donor tier.

The Winnetka businessman made economic issues a key point of his campaign.

The incoming governor says his inaugural festivities Monday and his two-month transition effort were both paid for with private money.

The tier of donors "up to $25,000," included three members of Rivers Casino developer Neil Bluhm's family, as well as Blackhawks owner Rocky Wirtz' liquor distributing company.

Among the smaller donors between $1,000 and $5,000 are Republicans state Rep. Ed Sullivan of Mundelein and Lake County Board Chairman Aaron Lawlor.
