Parked pickup truck explodes, police investigating

SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - Authorities say they are investigating an explosion in a pickup truck parked in the driveway of a home near Detroit.

Oakland County sheriff's deputies say nobody was in the vehicle at the time of the Saturday morning explosion. The blast significantly damaged the truck and sent debris across the Springfield Township home's yard and driveway.

The explosion also shattered a window on the home but nobody inside was hurt.

Deputies are working with state and federal law enforcement officials to determine the cause or motive of the blast.
