Indiana police investigating deaths of couple shot at home
RUSSIAVILLE, Ind. (AP) - Central Indiana police are investigating the shooting deaths of a man and his wife that occurred shortly after the woman called 911 dispatchers.
The Howard County Sheriff's Department says 46-year-old Anthony L. Newlin was pronounced dead from a gunshot wound at the couple's home in Russiaville (ROO'-shuh-vil) about 45 miles north of Indianapolis. His 44-year-old wife, Monica L. Newlin, 44, died later at a local hospital from her gunshot wound.
The Kokomo Tribune reports (http://bit.ly/1AEXd0R ) Monica Newline called 911 dispatchers about 8 p.m. Saturday and said her husband had locked himself in a bedroom, that he had a gun and was despondent over his mother's recent death.
The 911 dispatcher heard a commotion shortly thereafter and lost contact with Monica Newlin after her husband apparently came out of the bedroom.
