Police say video shows 1-year-old playing with handgun

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (AP) - An Evansville couple was arrested after police say investigators found cellphone videos showing the woman's 12-month-old daughter putting a handgun in her mouth.

Evansville police say the videos were found after a 19-year-old man was arrested after trying to sell a handgun to an undercover officer.

Police say the man and the girl's 22-year-old mother can be heard telling her to say "pow" while playing with the .40-caliber handgun. Police say no one tried to stop the girl as she put the gun's muzzle into her mouth.

Police say the woman told officers the girl was holding a pellet gun.

Both adults face preliminary charges including child neglect and recklessness with a deadly weapon.

Police say the girl and two other children were placed in emergency care.
