Exam for man wanted in Wyoming not fruitful, says lawyer

GLEN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) - A lawyer for a man wanted in Wyoming on sexual assault charges says the ailing 94-year-old wasn't able to communicate with a doctor who examined him in northern Michigan.

William Bricker is under hospice care, and authorities must determine if he's competent to understand that Wyoming wants to extradite him.

Attorney Michael Lewis says Bricker was visited Thursday by a doctor who traveled to Glen Arbor from the Michigan Center for Forensic Psychiatry. He says Bricker wasn't able to answer questions.

Lewis wasn't present for the exam at Bricker's home, but he says the information comes from the Grand Traverse County prosecutor. A message seeking comment was left Friday.

Bricker is accused of sexually assaulting children decades ago at a Teton County, Wyoming, camp. He's a former Winnetka, Illinois, teacher.
