Stevens Point Brewery plans $1.5 million project

STEVENS POINT, Wis. (AP) - The Stevens Point Brewery is planning a $1.5 million expansion.

The brewery will add new brewing and quality control equipment and remodel its gift shop.

Operating partner Joe Martino says the brewery had a double-digit increase in production volume in 2014 with strong sales of hard ciders. Stevens Point Journal Media (http://spjour.nl/1xJKydy ) says the brewery also plans to hire two additional sales people and another quality control technician.

Work on the project will start this month and is expected to be done by May.
