Milwaukee police identify woman fatally shot at hotel party

MILWAUKEE - Police have identified the 20-year-old woman who was fatally shot during a robbery at a party in a Milwaukee hotel.

Authorities say Jahara Kennedy was shot in the head early Sunday morning at a Days Inn and Suites hotel. The young mother died at a local hospital Monday when she was taken off of life support.

Witi-Tv Reports Kennedy was celebrating her sister's birthday when three uninvited men came into the hotel room and took partygoers' money and cellphones. Kennedy's cousin says one of the men opened fire, and a bullet went through the door and hit Kennedy. Another woman also was shot but is expected to recover.

Milwaukee police say they will continue to investigate the shooting and look for the three suspects who are responsible.
