All about science!
Lake Villa District Library kicked off the first of a six-week session Tuesday for a program called Science Specialists in Lake Villa.
Kids in grades 4-6 learned about flight as they built paper airplanes. Starting from a basic design, kids recorded data from test flights and made changes to perfect their airplanes.
Each week a different aspect of science is focused on.
We hope to encourage and spark a love of science, said Kerry Reed head of youth services. "We aren't teaching as much as demonstrating play with science."
The program was designed by library staff member Carol Rietcke, who is a degreed scientist.
